2012 NDCCA of the Year
Jason Hanson, Regional Agronomist with Winfield Solutions, was named The 2012 ND Certified Crop Adviser of the Year. He has been a CCA since 1995. Jason received a BS in Agriculture Economics from NDSU. He has been in the Ag industry for 21 years, the past 10 with Winfield, serving North Dakota and northwest Minnesota agriculture retailers. Jason was asked what being a CCA means to him, “Being certified for me is mainly keeping current with agronomics to better help my clients. It is the power of networking with experts in the industry. As the agricultural industry continues to grow we are faced with the problem of finding enough young, qualified people to fill those openings along with replacing those of retirement age. Becoming a CCA will be an important tool in opening doors to better employment opportunities while keeping up on the ever changing world of agronomics.”
Jason resides in Webster, ND with his wife Leah and their four children, Morgan, Cole, Mason, and Forrest. In his “spare” time Jason hobbies are being a 4-H leader, hunting, reading, running, coaching, hiking National Parks and enjoying music! Congratulations Jason!
The ND CCA of the Year is awarded yearly by the ND CCA Board and given to an outstanding crop adviser who has made an impact on agriculture through leadership, professionalism, education.
