Kent Hrbek played fourteen seasons for the Minnesota Twins at first base. Fans nicknamed him “Herbie” and knew him as an outstanding defensive player and a perennial slugger, as well as being charismatic and often chewing bubble gum.
He hit the first home run in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome on April 3, 1982. As a rookie he garnered his only All-Star selection, batting .301 with 23 home runs and 92 RBIs. He also finished second to Cal Ripken, Jr in the AL Rookie of the Year vote.

In 1991, while batting .284 with 20 home runs and 84 RBIs, Kent helped Minnesota rise from a last-place finish the season before to their second World Series title in five years.

Kent ,along with television analyst Dick Bremer, will look at the current Minnesota Twins heading into the 2012 season. Expect an entertaining Q and A on Twins baseball and the great outdoors.

The North Dakota Department of Agriculture has scheduled twelve Project Safe Send sites.
It’s a safe, simple and non-regulatory program to help you safely and legally get rid of unusable pesticides free of charge.

The program accepts any pesticides (i.e. herbicides, insecticides, rodenticides and fungicides) that are old, unusable or banned.  Participants can bring their unusable pesticides to a scheduled collection site.  They are asked to complete a voluntary survey and inventory form.

People with more than 1,000 pounds of pesticides should pre-register by contacting the North Dakota Department of Agriculture.  A maximum of 20,000 pounds of pesticide per participant will be accepted.  Pesticide rinse water also will be accepted at any of the 12 collection sites. The first 100 pounds of rinse water will be taken free of charge; a fee will of one dollar per pound will be applied for each additional pound of rinse water.

Please check your storage areas for any unusable pesticides and set them aside for Project Safe Send.  If you have deteriorating or leaking containers free heavy-duty plastic bags are available from the North Dakota Department of Agriculture.
